High School Course Enrollment Requirement Policy

 

All students must be enrolled in courses that will lead to the completion of the Golden Valley Charter School graduation requirements. The following grade level requirements are also in effect:

 

Math

All students must take and pass an approved Algebra 1 course in order to receive a high school diploma in the state of California. Therefore, any high school student who has not completed Algebra 1 must be enrolled in a math course that will lead to the successful completion of Algebra 1. Additionally, all 9th and 10th grade students must be enrolled in a math course.

 

English/Language Arts

All 9th and 10th grade students must be enrolled in an English course.  

History/Social Science

Students must be enrolled in World History in either 9th or 10th grade.

Students must be enrolled in United States History in 11th grade.

 

Science

One year of a physical science and one year of a life science must be completed prior to the end of 11th grade.
