Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery where a person is forced or coerced to perform services or labor against his/her will. Children as young as 9 may be at risk. “Traffickers may target minor victims through social media websites, telephone chat-lines, afterschool programs, at shopping malls and bus depots, in clubs, or through friends or acquaintances…” (US Department of Education “Human Trafficking of Children in the United States A Fact Sheet for Schools”)
