Summer School

Summer School Information

GVCS does not offer summer school, however high school students who desire to take courses at another educational institution over the summer for high school credit may do so under the following conditions:

  • The course must be taken at an accredited institution. This includes community colleges and online schools.
  • GVCS must receive an official transcript from the institution indicating course name, credits earned, and course grade. We request this transcript be sent to the school office prior to the winter break immediately following the summer during which the work was completed.

Additionally, the following conditions apply:

  • GVCS will not pay for the course or course materials under any condition.
  • Students may not receive high school credit for Driver’s Training.
  • Students who complete work at home under their parent’s supervision may not earn summer high school credit.
  • GVCS will not be held responsible for students enrolling in courses in which the student may not receive credit from this school i.e. repeating a course for which credits have already been received.
  • Refer to the College Unit Conversion Policy for additional information on how community college units are converted to high school credits.
