Welcome to Golden Valley Charter School!

Golden Valley Charter School (GVCS) is a personalized learning, non-classroom based public charter school. Here, parents/guardians take on the role of the day-to-day teacher, supported by a fully credentialed Education Facilitator (EF).

Each student is assigned an EF to help with learning plans, documentation, and selection of curriculum and materials. Students receive funding for educational resources and, if appropriate, services such as tutoring or classes from approved vendors.

Key aspects of GVCS include:

  • Personalized Learning: Parents/guardians tailor the learning environment to their child's needs, allowing for diverse learning styles and interests.
  • EF Support: The EF oversees the educational program, tracks funding, places orders, and conducts face-to-face meetings every 20 school days to review progress, collect work samples, and plan ahead for the next 20 days.
  • Public School Standards: While guided by Common Core and state standards, GVCS empowers flexibility and parents/guardians hold the primary authority on anything affecting their children’s attitudes, values, and beliefs.
